Cousins

Zoë and Jayden have lots of fun when they get together, even if they fight often over toys. These pictures are from a playdate earlier this week.

Zoë, Jayden, and Dreyton dancing. I really need to get Dreyton some boy dress-up stuff.

Playing with bendaroos

Playing a matching game with the cards they got from trick or treating.
Playing playdough

Zoë and Dreyton had a check-up this morning, Zoë is 39.4 lbs and 99cm (3'3"), Dreyton is 31 lbs and 89 cm (2'11").

They are so lucky to have each other, just like you kids were. Surrounded by cousins. My cousins were nerds but maybe they thought I was too....lol.
You always have fun play at your place, I never get invited.

  3. i like that last pic of the girls together, such happy smiles.

deb, you're right, i didn't really know my cousins much either. i suppose we would have known them better if they lived closer.

and, i was a bit scared i'd fall out of your high in the sky beds. i had to practice a few times standing off the bed to the floor. i think i like the basement more.it's so quiet down there.

  4. So wonderful the cousins live so close to each other, and virtually the same ages! And you give them every opportunity to learn the give and take of playing together, smart move.

And a message to my kids, for Pete's sake, we lived in the same city. I eventually got tired of always being the inviter, never the invitee. Do you recall ever once spending even a Christmas at the cousins' home? Were our children that riotous that they might knock over a priceless figurine, or leave their grubby handprints all over the couch? Or was it all due to some undeclared long-standing friction between brother and sister that precluded them ever encouraging their children access to their cousins. I don't know, I did the best I could, and it failed.
