Busy week

The kids and I have been in Calgary this week as Lee is incredibly busy with a 3 week compressed course and school, so we made it easier for him to study and to get some downtime. Here's some pictures so far, more to come soon...

Jayden and Zoë on the swings at Mckenzie Lake, it was quite humerous after the park as Zoë fell in this massive mud puddle. We were going to get a picture but Zoë was in hysterics as she does not like to be dirty.

I found Zoë hiding in a corner with my mascara, she knew mascara goes on her eyes.

I love Grandma's house as Dreyton can't go underneath the couch. This is him asleep exhausted from trying to get under.

This pool was 50% off at superstore so we couldn't resist buying it. It was such a hot day today and Zoë loved going on the slide and playing with the spray from the Giraffe's mouth.

Zoë loved that it was a soft spray so she kept putting her head underneath it.

My boy is driving me crazy

As soon as I put Dreyton down to roll around he goes straight for underneath the couch, no matter where he is in the living room.

The greatest place!

We found a great recreation center in Sherwood Park, it was a tonne of fun and a great price.

Dreyton is my giggler, he LOVED the waves.

There was a fun lazy river you could float down

Lee cooling off

Dreyton zonked out, it was great to find that they had free strollers to use in the pool area for this exact reason.

After the pool we found a fun play area

Zoë

So I have gone a little picture happy.. It gets addicting.

Zoë has had an obsession with bikes since we have gotten ours, so I thought she was ready for her own. She keeps trying to steal other little kids bikes at the park.

She is starting to get the hang of pedaling.

She was fascinated by this feather on our front lawn.

Trying to get up on our porch without the steps, didn't quite work.

Zoë loves playing with the chalk on our porch.

My boy is growing too quick

Dreyton has been reaching some close milestones lately. He just got his second tooth, just a couple of days after his first. Here's a picture of his first tooth starting to come through, VERY hard to get a picture of.

He is sitting up really good these days and he's starting to get up on his hands and knees, trying very hard to start crawling. When Zoë started crawling it was a big transition as she wasn't that much of a roller, but Dreyton is a big roller. He will roll all over the living room and get into everything already. Needless to say I am a HUGE fan of the play pen right now. He can be in the playroom with Zoë, without me worrying about him getting into stuff he shouldn't be.

He's also holding his own bottle very well too.

Toddlers!

So I had Emma for Monday and Tuesday as her new dayhome was taking a few weeks off and they needed some help for a couple of days. Zoë enjoyed the couple of days as she now sticks up for herself instead of letting Emma take everything from her. We went to the park today, it was interesting fitting 3 of them in the double stroller.

Zoë making sure she won't grab her toy again (thank goodness it was plastic)

Zoë saying sorry and making up

Zoë now thinks its OK to colour on herself since she has gotten her facepainted. Great!

The last day

Today was the last day that we will see much of Lee for the next few weeks. He is starting a class tomorrow that has been compressed from 4 months into 3 weeks, as well as still working for APX alarm. We decided to make it fun and go to the street performers festival and then to West Edmonton Mall since it started heavily downpouring.

Zoë was amazingly still as she got her facepainted as a butterfly.

Daddy and Zoë went into the petting zoo at the mall

Going to Galaxyland at West Edmonton Mall

Zoë on the carousel at West Ed. It is an inexpensive activity as she gets to go on about 5 different rides for free as well as an adult chaperone until she's 2 which is getting close.

Zoë decided to pick the tractor to ride on

Daddy and Zoë getting swallowed by a Whale

Dreyton being his happy self in his car seat. We noticed while we were at the mall that he got his first tooth today! Growing way too quick.

On the way home in the car Dreyton was just giggling like crazy at Zoë, He finds his sister to be SO funny most of the time.

Random pics of the week

We went to Chuck E. Cheese as a family a couple of days ago, Zoë had lots of fun playing all the games, as well as Lee.

Here's some recent pictures of Dreyton sitting up

I went to the zoo and Red Robins with some of the spouses of the APX workers. It was alot of fun, they all have kids close to Zoë and Dreytons age.

Dreyton has moved in! It was finally cool in my house last night so I got some motivation and reorganized the play room to make it Dreyton friendly.

Canada Day

So.. we were bad parents once in 2 years, not bad. We had our kids stay up till Midnight tonight, but it was well worth it.

Lee had to work today but afterwards we definetely had a fun Canada Day. When he got off work we went straight to some friends place to visit, we were supposed to have a bbq there but we were not able to make it on time. Once we left there we went to a APX bbq, it was a lot of fun, Zoë just ran around the whole time and Dreyton was just getting passed around by other APX girls, he LOVED the attention.

We then went to our friends Curtis and Ashley's highrise to watch the fireworks and to see the waterfall off of the high level bridge. It was the most amazing view as it was on the 11th floor and facing downtown Edmonton and the river valley. Zoë LOVED watching the fireworks, she was sure yelling and singing as loud as she could so the 100 plus other people on the other balcony's could hear her.

Just a word of advice, DON'T order the special brownie batter blizzard, Lee and I had about 3 bites and were ready to puke, here's a picture to have an idea of what it is. It was pretty much drinking chocolate syrup and brownie batter, not sure where the ice cream was.
