Trip To Utah

We just got back from a really nice relaxing trip to Utah. Lee had to go to some meetings so we made a vacation out of it and we took Dreyton while Zoë stayed with her Aunties and Grandma. We had so much fun that I had to convince Lee that we weren't going to move there (minus the day that I got deathly sick from what we think was food poisoning).

Dreyton slept before the plane even started moving and woke up after we had landed

My brother Ryan is officially ENGAGED! I took Katya out for ice cream one night while Lee and Ryan were able to get in her apartment and set it up pretty before she got back. She was sure shocked he was there a day early and in her apartment proposing. Lee took a video of it but its pretty poor quality since it was so dark at the time.

We went to a few restaurants there that I thought Lee may like.
Tucano's is pretty much a meat buffet where servers will come when you want them too with a variety of different meats.
The Mayan is a theme restaurant and there are divers that dive in the restaurant and do a skit.
The Training Table nothing fancy but it has a neat concept, they have phones at each table that you can place your order on when you are ready, instead of waiters coming around, and then they call you back when your order is ready

We went to Cabellas which is a neat outdoor store and I got a perfect round in a shooting range of 200 pts, Lee got 90 pts

We went to Lee's work party the last night there where it was different game shows going on. We won two OGIO suitcases and two ipod portable boomboxes and then received some hats and shirts as well.

Miss Independence

Zoë has been trying to grow up too quick lately. The other night Zoë decided she didn't want to wear a diaper to bed and took it off at some point before she fell asleep. I went and checked on her like I usually do just before heading to bed and noticed her diaper was off and she had drenched her sheets really bad, and was shivering while she slept. So Lee and I did the routine of changing everything and putting her in a warm bath and got her all dressed again and put her back to bed.

The next morning Lee was heading downstairs with Dreyton and noticed Zoë's door was open. He went in to see if she was still in her room, but she wasn't. We went downstairs to find her and she was sitting on the sofa chair hoping the TV would just turn on magically. For all we know she could have came down at 2am, we just don't know. I have started putting a baby gate up on the top of the stairs at night as I think she is too little to wander around alone.

She is growing up so quick, talks a mile a minute and can tell us exactly what she wants. Last week the UPS guy came to our door and Zoë was saying bye to him and said LOVE YOU, and I think he just ignored her and kept going so she said it about 6 times louder and louder until he finally said love you too.

I REALLY hope this isn't Zoë trying to imitate me with my glasses typing away on the computer.

My crazy daughter

Zoë didn't want to eat dinner, so she decided to be our entertainment instead. She can get her brother to giggle so easily, so cute to watch them together. The pictures look funky because I accidentally left it on ebay mode, and they are in there diapers as we like to do that once in awhile if its a messy dinner and they're having a bath afterwards.

posers

My kids love to pose for the camera. Dreyton has instant smiles and Zoë always says my turn my turn.

This is Dreyton's jersey he wears to daddy's basketball games.

I took this picture of Zoë just before going to church. She has started to like nursery a little more each week, I think the trick is playdough. They just started bringing it out for the kids and apparently it replaces mommy any day. She actually threw a massive temper when I had come to pick up Zoë after church. It's BEAUTIFUL! :) hopefully it continues, minus the temper at the end.

Back to normal, sorta

Dreyton is starting to let go of things and stand for a few seconds on his own

What kid doesn't like to climb on there dad

I had to do an impromptu wash in Zoë's hair even though she had one earlier, so I washed her hair in the sink like my mom would do to me sometimes. Zoë LOVED it.

High Bridge Waterfall

Lee had a day off work yesterday so we took advantage of it and went out in the evening. The kids wore themselves out at an indoor playground. Its great cause Dreyton has a tonne of fun too now since he can crawl and climb really good now.
Since U of A is having there 100th anniversary they had the high bridge waterfall going with the colours of the school shining on it. Zoë and Dreyton were able to stay up a little past there bedtime to go see it. After the kids were in bed Lee and I splurged on my favourite storebought cake! It was SO good!

As soon as Lee had taken the picture he told me there were 3 massive spiders right behind me, gross!

Eating

Dreyton has been growing like a weed, he only eats foods that he can feed himself now. He can sure make a mess but its so cute to watch him scarf it down.

Dreyton only ate his pasta and threw the peas on the floor, so Zoë finished her meal and came running to eat his peas.

Feeding himself gets a bit tiring I guess
