Update on Dreyton

Dreyton was released from the hospital Thursday afternoon, so nice to be home! The stollery is such a nice hospital, they have all the supplies for baby, and the nurses are really nice and helpful. Dreyton got a really nice quilt at the hospital, a donation from a quilting club. Zoë is still in Calgary till Sunday so we can have a few days with just Dreyton and to get some rest from a long week. Right now Lee and I are VERY cautious with every move Dreyton makes, and I am sure it will be hard to loosen up.
Right now we're just getting Dreyton healed as quick as possible and having to prove to child services that we are fit parents. I know it has to be done but you feel like criminals having to go through the whole process. It will be nice for Lee to go back to school and Zoë to be back with us to get back to regular life from a busy fun summer and a hectic week.

  1. YAY for Dreyton! So good to be getting back to normal. We had a good visit with Zoe in Calgary, and she is doing great with all her grammas and grampas and aunties and uncles and COUSINS. She LOVES her cousins, we can see.

We've all been praying for your little family.

    Hugs to everyone.

    Love you forever,

    aunt Linda

  2. Dont you worry...your both awesome parents and we all know that! It could have happened to any of us with KIDS including the people who are "checking" you out. At least they are doing their job but what a sad thing in todays world there is a need for such a job. The important thing is our boy is fine and really cant be in a more loving and caring family, they will see that!

  3. I can't believe child services would even notice your boy as any of their business. One would think people doing that job would have some sort of intuition into obvious accidents. It's just WEIRD. But typical of healthcare bereaucracy.Oh well, i hope they're not too much bother, before they decide to grab a brain and go do the real work, quite frankly, that they often neglect.

  5. Great to hear that Dreyton is doing better. I'm hoping that the sweeling is going down fast. And yes it is unbelievable that the healthcare systems has to have child services do a search on you. But it is devastating that other parents/caregivers could do such things to children who can't fend for themselves. Hence why there is a such company to protect the children. I'm sure you'll do fine.
