Cake Decorating level 2

I just finished my level 2 cake decorating classes at michaels. This level you only made one cake at the end and learned how to do mostly flowers the other weeks. I really enjoyed making this cake, I love the basketweave technique and the rope border. We made the flowers out of royal iciing which makes it not really edible, more for looks.

I made this bird out of color flow iciing. Zoë got her hands on the container and broke the bird before I could put it on the cake

Zoë finished her puzzle

Zoë keeps amazing me with puzzles, she can do quite hard ones without any help. She can see just a little spot on one puzzle that matches to another quite easily. She totally forgot the words at the end of her abc's and decided to match the tune with other words so no one would notice.

Cousins

Zoë and Jayden have lots of fun when they get together, even if they fight often over toys. These pictures are from a playdate earlier this week.

Zoë, Jayden, and Dreyton dancing. I really need to get Dreyton some boy dress-up stuff.

Playing with bendaroos

Playing a matching game with the cards they got from trick or treating.
Playing playdough

Zoë and Dreyton had a check-up this morning, Zoë is 39.4 lbs and 99cm (3'3"), Dreyton is 31 lbs and 89 cm (2'11").

Happy Halloween

We went to a stake Halloween party the night before, it was fun until it got way too busy.

Dreyton went as a sheriff

and Zoë was Snow White.

Dreyton playing one of the games

We decided to use a template and not carve a regular jack-o-lantern pumpkin. We did a ghost and Zoë wanted a little bat.

Getting ready for trick or treating. Zoë went as a pink poodle, and Dreyton went as a tiger. I asked Zoë a few weeks before Halloween what she wanted to be and she said she wanted to be a pink puppy. I figured I wouldn't be able to find a warm costume like that so we went looking for something else and I was glad when I did find a pink puppy for her.

Just about to put some make up on before heading out.

I didn't get very many pictures of actual trick or treating, it was hard enough catching up to Zoë.

Ballet

Zoë is so funny when she does her ballet dances. She knows quite a few ballet moves but she's definetely not the most graceful person, I will try to get it on video some time.

Both my kids are surprising me with how good they are at puzzles. Dreyton can do puzzles with pictures in the background quite easily and Zoë is learning to find the missing spots to connect harder puzzles.

The grandkids (minus Drew) talking to Grandma and Pampa on a video conference on the computer while they are in Arizona. Jayden was so confused talking through the computer, she kept saying the computer can't hear us.

Granny's 85th Birthday Celebration

My mom organized a surprise get together for granny's 85th birthday, all of my Naylor aunts and uncles came from out of town to celebrate.

Granny opening her presents with a few helpers

The same day it was my dad's birthday so he was opening some presents as well

I don't think I saw much of my kids the two days while I was there. They had tonnes of fun with their Great Aunt and Uncles.

Granny opening up her big present that my mom, Dayna, and I helped make. It was a scrapbook of all her kids and grandkids with a letter from each person to her.

I think those were happy tears

LOTS of food

Snow keeps on coming...

It has been a crazy few weeks, with classes starting and getting back to a regular schedule. Zoë is in a ballet class which I am not sure about yet, she says she loves it but when we go she usually hides in the corner for half of the class. She is also in a playschool once a week that she loves, they do puzzles and crafts and play in the gym with sports activities or gymnastics. Dreyton and Zoë are both in a swimming class, Zoë goes alone with a teacher and Dreyton either goes with Lee or I.

Some of Zoë's art from play school

First snowfall of the year

Daddy and Zoë heading out on a date to the movies (first movie Zoë has gone too). They went to the 3D toy story and toy story 2, next time I don't think we'll take her to a 3D movie (didn't want to keep her glasses on) but she loved going.

A ridiculous amount of snow already, Zoë has been having lots of fun while Dreyton naps playing out in the snow.

My 21 month old baby boy

My baby boy is growing up way too quick. He started potty training himself a couple weeks ago and now today he decided he didn't want to wear diapers anymore. He kicked and screamed and when I finally got the diaper on he ripped it off, after going through two diapers I gave up and let him wear nothing. Luckily he had been really good and hadn't had an accident all day today.

Dreyton's also mastered opening doors within the last few days. He is pretty good with ones that I don't want him to go in, but his bedroom door had to get a childproof handle on it.

He is also getting to the point where he doesn't want to nap anymore. After 2 hours of playing in his room I give up and let him out. I took out his bookshelf today which he loves to climb on and he fell asleep right away, so im' HOPING that solves the no napping.

I got his 18 month shots done a week ago he weighs 30 lbs and is 35 inches long.

Corn Maze

It was a really nice day out so we decided to go to the corn maze today. It had alot of different things to do there and the kids had a blast.

We of course went through a corn maze. Zoë loved pretending it was similar to Dora where they have to pick the path to go on.

They took some industrial tubing and made it into a slide.

Watching the pig races

Going into the petting zoo. Dreyton wanted to talk to all the animals more then he wanted to pet them. He would crouch down and look into there faces and start talking away.

having a duck race

The hay bale maze, Zoë used it more to jump around on then as a maze.
